The Archives of Rural History (ARH) online portal 'Working Animals Online - Image Sources on Animal Work' provides access to a selection of the images recorded and described in the ARH database 'Working Animals'. The images are grouped according to the institutions that hold the images and make them available to the public in the ARH online portal. The image rights must be clarified with the contributing institutions.

The grouping according to thematic motifs creates an initial overview and at the same time illustrates the variety of content visible in the images. Various search functions are available under 'All images'. The portal and the individual entries on the images are a working tool of the ongoing research project on the history of working animals.
